On our fourth and final day in Rome, we didn't have anything planned so we pretty much just dedicated it to shopping. We went to Via del Corso, which is supposed to be the best street for shopping in Rome. It has a mixture of designer and more reasonably priced stores, so there's a little something for everyone. Most of the shops were having big sales as well, which was convenient. I got some things at Calvin Klein and Brandy Melville, but actually found that there weren't a whole lot of stores that were my style. I much preferred Via del Babuino, which is the one by the Spanish Steps, and we actually somehow ended up back there when we were wandering around, so we did some more shopping there. Although that street has a lot of high end designers as well, it's a bit more "hip" in my opinion and just a lot more enjoyable to walk down because it isn't separated by multiple lanes of traffic like the other.
I was really excited to see a Jo Malone store because I hear so much about it from beauty gurus and such and I've never seen one in the states. I knew I wanted one of their perfumes but there were seriously so many to choose from which was a bit overwhelming, so I just told one of the employees that I wanted something floral and I happened to love the first one she showed me. I also finally got Velvet Teddy from Mac. When we were done shopping, we stopped at a little cafe for sandwiches & gelato and then walked along the Tiber River to get a cab back to the hotel. My dad & brother had an awards ceremony to go to that night that I wasn't allowed to go to, so I just spent the rest of the night relaxing and getting ready to go. We left for the airport around noon the next day and had a really long flight, but made it home in one piece. It was a pretty short trip but I feel like we saw most of the things you're supposed to see and made the most of it.
Messing around with one of my new lenses on the balcony of our room- you can see the Colosseum on the left.
