Two Of My Favorite Places

urth caffe on melrose in los angeles, green tea boba and sprout sandwich

If you follow me on social media, it probably seems like I'm always in either Los Angeles or Las Vegas, and it's because I kind of am. Over the years, I've made my closest friends through traveling and going to concerts and such, and most of them happen to live in California. It makes traveling there a lot easier because I always have a place to stay and LA is one of my favorite places ever, so I make it a point to get out there a lot. Plus there's always something happening there, as opposed to where I live where there are pretty much just a bunch of trees.

I visited for about three weeks last month because my favorite band, Years & Years, was playing a music festival called Hard Summer and there were various other things going on as well. We went down to San Diego after winning tickets to see Years & Years again at a private radio event, which was super intimate and cool. We visited Manhattan Beach and ate pizzas and strawberries from a little farmer's market and checked out the aquarium at the end of the pier. We of course went to Urth Caffe aka my favorite restaurant ever and sat outside and drank green tea bobas. We took pictures in front of the pink wall on Melrose, a few of which you can see in this post.

To finish off the trip, we drove over to Las Vegas for a couple days. We almost always go to Vegas when I'm out there because it's really easy to drive or fly over and it's just a guaranteed good time. I think everyone probably thinks we're crazy for going so much, but the music is amazing, meeting new people is amazing, the energy is amazing, and it's just fun. Where else can you stay out until 6am drinking and dancing and just letting loose? It's necessary sometimes. Anyway, we saw Kaskade at XS the first night and Ansel Elgort aka Ansolo aka love of my life at Omnia the second night, and drove back to LA the next day. Usually we go for a bit longer than that but it was a last minute thing and two days is probably more than enough for the average person. Unfortunately the only picture I took was on the way there when we kept seeing rainbows. I'm going back to LA and probably Vegas again this month though because the iHeartRadio festival is happening there and then Years & Years is touring in California, so I'll try to take more photos then!

  8. These pictures are amazing! Vegas would be so much fun! Last time I was there I was ten, so obviously didn't enjoy it as much as the adults, though when I turn 21 (is that the legal drinking age in america? or is it 18 like australia??) I think I will go back and experiance it for real! Looks like you're having a blast, would you ever consider moving to LA or do like all the trees hahah
