Can you believe December is tomorrow? That means my birthday is in a week (another year older, ew), Christmas is coming up, and the New Year will be here before you know it. I feel like every year around this time everyone has the realization of "shit, where did this year go?" but it feels true every time. Although December is supposed to be a happy time full of holiday cheer and whatnot, I can't really say I'm looking forward to getting into winter because there's nothing I hate more than the cold, and my family of course celebrates Christmas but we don't really bother to do anything super special. Turning another year older is also pretty terrifying (I can feel a midlife crisis coming on), but I do have some exciting New Years Eve plans with my friends in Vegas so I'm really looking forward to that.
Enough rambling, onto my favorite things from November. I finally got my hands on the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, which I'm sure you've heard about unless you've been living under a rock. I got the pressed powder version in the shade Moonstone and it's a super shimmery pale gold color that looks so pretty & glowy on the face. I also recently upgraded to the iPhone 6s Plus in Rose Gold and I'm seriously obsessed. I had the 6 before and I was iffy about the size of the plus - my first impression was "this phone is literally the size of my face" but now that I've adjusted I couldn't be happier with it. It makes photos and everything look so much nicer and it's especially good if you're obsessed with Instagram like I am.
A quick mention to these sunglasses from Retro City Sunglasses which appear to be out of stock in black, but I've linked to a nice blue shade that you can get for only $12.99. The weather here is pretty gross at the moment but I'm pretending it's still sunny enough to wear them. I've also just read Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert and I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it's life changing or anything, but it did inspire me a bit and make me think about what I'm doing with my life (which may or may not be a good thing), and I love her stuff in general so I think it was worth a read.
Next up, Smith's Rosebud Salve. I picked this up at the checkout counter at Sephora for $6 and it's one of my favorite lip balms. I had the tube version before but it kind of broke and went everywhere, so I definitely prefer the little tin. It smells rosy and amazing and feels nice and hydrating on my lips, plus it's pink and adorable. I also got these little individually packaged face masks from Nugg Beauty* and I've really been enjoying them. It's super easy to just open one up, use it and throw it away and there are a bunch of different scents that each serve different purposes, i.e. the Cranberry Seed & Jojoba Beads is meant to remove dead skin cells for a clearer complexion and the Flaxseed & Peppermint Oil is meant for plumping up dull & tired skin. They would also make really good stocking stuffers.
Coming to the end - Trader Joe's Candy Cane Green Tea is an amazing decaffeinated peppermint green tea that's only around for the holidays, so I would recommend stocking up if you like it as much as I do. Lastly, I've been listening to Justin Bieber's "Purpose" nonstop since it came out and it's just an all around amazing album. I know a ton of people that love the album that wouldn't normally like him and he's come up with a really amazing new sound and lots of awesome collaborations. Definitely give it a chance even if you aren't a fan. Now that I've written entirely too much, thanks for reading & let me know what your favorites were for this month as well.
